Something for Everyone
The Windermere Congregation offers a rich and varied range of programs designed to strengthen faith, build meaningful relationships, and equip people for everyday life. Whether you are a young child taking your first steps in understanding the Bible, a teenager navigating the challenges of modern life, a parent seeking guidance for your family, or an adult looking to deepen your knowledge of Scripture — there is a program here for you. All of our programs are free to attend and rooted in practical Bible principles that make a real difference in people's lives.
Regular Congregation Programs
Bible Study Groups
Our congregation hosts several weekly Bible study groups covering books of the Bible, prophecy, and practical life application. Groups meet in members' homes and at the Kingdom Hall, guided by experienced members who create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you are brand new to the Bible or have studied it for years, you will find these sessions both educational and encouraging. All materials are provided free of charge.
Youth Ministry
Our youth program provides teenagers and children with meaningful activities rooted in Bible principles. Young people enjoy regular association with peers who share their values, helping them navigate social pressures, make sound decisions, and develop strong moral character. From congregation involvement to social outings, the youth of Windermere Congregation are nurtured in an environment that is both fun and genuinely supportive of their long-term well-being.
Family Worship
We provide resources and guidance to help families establish a regular Family Worship evening at home. Parents receive support in teaching children Bible values in age-appropriate and engaging ways. Our congregation provides recommended topics, activity ideas, and printed resources to make family worship time both meaningful and enjoyable. Families consistently report that this weekly practice strengthens communication, builds trust, and brings lasting unity to the household.

Sunday Meeting
Every Sunday — 10:00 AM
Public Talk (30 min)
A Bible-based discourse given by a congregation member or visiting speaker, addressing practical life topics relevant to people of all ages and backgrounds. Open to all with no prior Bible knowledge required.
Watchtower Study (60 min)
A group discussion of the current Watchtower magazine article, with audience participation encouraged. Questions are printed in the study edition of the magazine, and multiple congregation members share their thoughts from Scripture. Visitors are welcome to listen without participating.
Midweek Meeting
Every Tuesday — 7:00 PM
Congregation Bible Study (30 min)
Study of a current Bible-based textbook with audience participation. Recent study books have covered topics including the life of Jesus, the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Bible's message from Genesis to Revelation.
Ministry Training
Practical demonstrations of how to share Bible truths effectively in various settings — at the door, in informal conversation, or via phone or letter writing. Congregation members participate in short prepared presentations that develop public speaking and communication skills.
Bible Highlights (10 min)
Brief review of the weekly Bible reading assignment covering key verses, their historical context, and practical application for today. Members are encouraged to read five chapters of the Bible each week as part of a coordinated annual reading schedule.
Ministry Training
One of the most distinctive and practical aspects of our congregation's weekly meetings is the emphasis on ministry training. Integrated into every Tuesday Midweek Meeting, ministry training equips congregation members to communicate Bible truths clearly, confidently, and with genuine warmth to people they meet in the community.
Training sessions take the form of short scripted or spontaneous presentations given by congregation members — including teenagers and children — before the assembled group. A designated overseer provides constructive feedback and encouragement following each demonstration. Over time, participants develop strong public speaking skills, the ability to reason logically from Scripture, and the confidence to address questions and objections respectfully.
These skills benefit members far beyond the ministry itself. Many of our congregation members have reported that the communication and presentation skills they developed through ministry training have directly benefited their professional lives, their parenting, and their ability to engage meaningfully with people from all walks of life. It is, in every sense, a practical education grounded in love and service.
Assemblies - Conventions
Beyond our weekly meetings, the congregation participates in larger gatherings that bring together Jehovah's Witnesses from across the Edmonton circuit and Alberta region.
Circuit Assembly
Twice yearly, our circuit holds a two-day assembly featuring Bible talks, demonstrations, and encouraging experiences from the ministry. Hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses from our circuit attend these events, which are held at an assembly hall or rented venue in the Edmonton area. The program covers timely Biblical topics and always includes something meaningful for every age group — from children to seniors.
Regional Convention
The annual three-day Regional Convention is a highlight of our year. New Bible-based publications and programs are released, and the entire program encourages our faith with dramatic presentations, video productions, and moving talks from experienced speakers. Thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses from across Alberta attend the Edmonton-area convention. The convention is free and open to the public — many visitors attend for the very first time and leave deeply impressed.
Special Public Talks
Throughout the year, visiting speakers deliver special public talks on timely Bible topics. These are free and open to all members of the Edmonton community. Topics have included: the reliability of the Bible, practical strategies for family happiness, how to cope with anxiety, and what the Bible says about the future of our world. These talks are accessible to people of any background and require no prior knowledge of the Bible.
